Cambodia Chamber of Commerce launched a business meeting with Xi’an business delegations. The Xi’an delegations consisted of five government officials from Xi’an Municipal Bureau of Commerce and General Office of Xi’an People’s Government and five leading companies in China. Those companies are the manufacturer of mineral and metal products, the facilitation service provider for import & export, the producer of agricultural products and fruit procurement service, the manufacturer of chemical fertilizer, and the importer and exporter of hardware & tools, textile apparel and home appliances. Mr. Hao Mangxi, the head of delegation and the director of Xi’an Municipal Bureau of Commerce, noticed that there is a growing economic and business cooperation between China and Cambodia. However, the import and export amount is still small. He would like to see a bigger figure. Based on the outcome of this business meeting, he believed that Xi’an would first explore business opportunity with Cambodia in the sector of agriculture (fertilizer, rubber, agriculture related) and electronics. He also proposed the visit of Cambodia delegation to Xi’an in the future.

H.E Nguon Meng Tech, the director general of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, welcomed Xi’an delegations and briefed them in general about Cambodia. “Cambodia is located in the center of ASEAN, a strategic location for logistics and transportation. It is even more convenient for cargo transportation once the ASEAN railroad is completed,” he said. He recommended Xi’an companies to invest in agriculture and agro-processing such as rubber and agricultural products packaging, and suggested them to provide technical support to local partners. Electronics assembly line is also to be considered including semiconductor, resistor, microchip, and circuit board. Regarding culture and tourism, he hoped that in the future Xi’an would have direct flight to Cambodia so that both countries stay connected and come closer to each other.

At the end of the meeting, H.E Nguon Meng Tech and Mr. Hao Mangxi reached an agreement and signed MOU to further enhance the economic and trade cooperation between Xi’an Municipal of China and Cambodia.
